Macs Mud - MB2 Speckled - 10kg

Mac’s Mud Speckled Buff (MB2 Speckle) is a reformulated midfire, iron‑bearing plastic clay body made from 100% New Zealand clays. It offers strong throwing and handbuilding performance for small to large work.

Changes from the original Speckled Buff include removal of the white speckle, slightly higher shrinkage, increased vitrification at cone 6, and higher thermal expansion for better glaze fit.

Note: Its higher vitrification means firing above cone 10 may cause warping or bloating. Testing is recommended.

Cone 5: Total shrinkage 12–13%, absorption 1.5–2.5%
Cone 6: Total shrinkage 12–13%, absorption 1–1.5%
Cone 7: Total shrinkage 12.5–13%, absorption 0.5–1%
Cone 8: Total shrinkage 12.5–13%, absorption 0.3–0.5%
