How to book a class

Our classes are released a month before the start of each term. First, we make them available to preview on our booking website along with the release date. This gives you time to decide which class works for you without the pressure of missing out. Then, on the specified date, bookings will open using the same link. Can I pay in installments?

Yes! We have Klarna which has flexible payment options once you reach the checkout after booking your class.

Booking Questions & sold-out classes

If you can't book into your class, first check the release date listed with the class description. If you're booking on or after this date, the class is likely sold out. Classes can fill up quickly, so make sure you're subscribed to our newsletter to hear about new classes first and get the best chance of securing a spot.

I have some experience—what level should I book?

If you have experience throwing, you can skip level one and move into the level that best describes what you'd like to focus on.

Beginner's Level One

Beginner's Level One

Day: Multiple options
Time: 10am–12:30pm and 6:30pm–9pm options

Description:
Level 1

This 10-week course will set you up perfectly with a strong foundation and understanding of all the basics required for you to confidently make your own bowls, cups and mugs.

You will focus on cylinders - the basis of many pottery forms (think scales for musicians!) and bowls, and learn how to trim and glaze your work.

With a 10-week class there is plenty of time to explore and understand the stages of making, drying, trimming and glazing your work. We will have 2 glazing classes, which means you will be able to learn from your first glazing attempts, with plenty of opportunity to share and discuss results with your tutors and fellow classmates.

You will also get an opportunity to decorate with underglazes and experiment with carving, making your creations uniquely yours.

Wheel Throwing Level 2

Wheel Throwing Level 2

Day: Multiple options
Time: 10am–12:30pm and 6:30pm–9pm options

Description:
Level 2

Building on the foundations from Level 1 you will continue to develop your skills with new shapes, larger amounts of clay, and to start getting some consistency with your throwing.

You will also start doing jug forms, making exciting new forms (think chip 'n dip dishes!), and getting a bit fancier with your trimming and glazing.

When it comes to glazing your forms you will learn about double-dipping, and various combinations of glaze layering to add interest to your work. You will have 2 glazing classes in this 10-week course, giving you the perfect opportunity to learn from your first glazing class, and adjust if necessary.

This 10-week class will cement your skills and set you up perfectly to continue onto our Level 3 throwing classes.

Wheel Throwing Level 3

Wheel Throwing Level 3

Level 3

Once you have completed Levels 1 and 2 you will be ready to push yourself with some new challenges in this 10-week class.

In this class expect to make dinner plates, salad bowls, lidded jars and some exciting multi-part throwing!

When it comes to glazing your forms you will learn about spraying glazes as well, which will give you a completely different finish on your pots.

You will have 2 glazing classes in this 10-week course, giving you the perfect opportunity to learn from your first glazing class, and adjust if necessary.

This 10-week class will expand your knowledge in a structured and supportive environment.

The Potters Garden

The Potters Garden

Day: Tuesday mornings

Description:
Levels 2 and 3

This class is an exciting combination of both Wheel Throwing and Hand Building skills to create functional and beautiful items for your Garden.

By using both skills, you will learn how to combine wheel thrown and handmade pieces, which will open a world of possibilities for your making.

Think Bird Feeders, Windowsill Herb gardens, tiered vases and more!

You will have 2 glazing classes in this 10-week course, giving you the perfect opportunity to learn from your first glazing class, and adjust if necessary.

This 10-week class will expand your knowledge in a structured and supportive environment.

Dinnerware on the Wheel

Day: Thursday mornings

Description:
In this 7-week class, you will learn the essential skills of wheel throwing while building a cohesive set of functional dinnerware.

Each week you'll focus on a specific piece, learning how to throw, trim, refine and repeat forms to create a collection that works beautifully together.

The focus will be on repetition and creating a matching dinner set, with lots of tips and tricks along the way!

Marbellous Clay: Wheel Throwing and Hand Building

Day: Monday Evenings
Time: 6:30pm - 9pm
Duration/ level: 8 weeks / Level 2

Description:
Explore the expressive possibilities of marbled clay across an 8-week ceramics course combining wheel throwing and handbuilding.

Throughout the course, you’ll experiment with a range of techniques including agateware, nerikomi, kurinuki, slab building, and wheel throwing. You’ll learn how to combine and manipulate different coloured clays to create distinctive patterns, surfaces, and forms.

This course provides space to experiment with colour, pattern, texture, and form, while developing skills across both wheel throwing and handbuilding.

This is an opportunity to play, experiment, and develop your own approach to marbled clay. Explore the balance between control and spontaneity — from layering and slicing coloured clay to carving, constructing, and throwing forms

MUG-Nificent: a 4-week wheel class

Description:
SUITABLE FOR TOTAL BEGINNERS

This 4-week wheel course is a chance to create your dream mug set of up to 4 mugs.

This course is perfect for those who just want to focus on one particular vessel shape and technique. In your 3rd week, you will trim and attach handles to your pieces and choose between 2 to 4 of your favourite mugs to be bisque fired. In the last class you will learn how to apply glaze to finish your works, ready for their final glaze firing.

Clay is included in the course cost, and tools are available to use during class. This course includes between 2 to 4 pieces to be fired and glazed, ready for collection approx. 3 - 4 weeks after your class.

If you would like to keep more than 4 pieces, these will be charged at $20 per piece.

Finished work will be available to collect 3 - 4 weeks after your course.

SUITABLE FOR BEGINNERS

Have a go on the wheel with this 3-week wheel course.

Learn the basic techniques to create a set of 2 - 4 bowls. This 3 week course is perfect for both beginners and those who may have completed a course with us before.

In your 2nd week, you will trim your pieces and choose up to 4 of your favourite bowls to be bisque fired and in the last class you will learn how to apply glaze to finish your pieces, ready for their final glaze firing.

Course includes up to 4 pieces to be glazed and fired. Any additional pieces may be kept for an extra $20 per piece.
Clay is included in the course cost, and tools are available to use during class.

Finished work will be available to collect 3 - 4 weeks after your course.
