Children’s Parties
Wheel throwing or hand building, kids are always welcome at The Clay Centre. Set up your own party area and let the kids get inspired by our enthusiastic and experienced tutors
Minimum age for hand building is 6 years old, and 9 years old for wheel throwing.

Minimum and maximum numbers
We require a minimum of 8 people for Hand Building and 12 people for Wheel Throwing events.
For larger groups we can easily accommodate up to 16 people for Hand Building sessions, and up to 32 people for Wheel Throwing (we have two classrooms with 16 wheels each).
However. if your group is larger than this, please get in touch—we can host up to 50 people!
Dates and times
Private Events:
Every Saturday afternoon is reserved for private events and this is our preferred time, however in some circumstances we do have availability at other times such as Friday evenings. We are closed on Sundays.
Corporate Events:
Corporate events are usually held during the afternoon on weekdays. We can also host in the evenings during the week in the term holiday break when our regular classes have ended.
Each package is quoted for 1.5 hours. If you would like to stay for an extra half hour after your event to socialise, this will need to be by prior arrangement and will incur a charge of $30 per extra half hour.
Food and drink
Due to Health and Safety reasons, we cannot have eating/drinking during your workshop, so if you wish to socialise after your event with drinks and nibbles, please make sure to book our room for a $30 flat fee per half hour.
Everything is BYO, except for wine glasses which we will supply.
Alcohol Policy
We are a working studio and as such cannot have intoxicated people on our premises.
For Health and Safety reasons, and for the consideration of others, our policy is that we will not teach intoxicated people. Everyone must arrive sober, and after your event you are welcome to enjoy a few drinks in a responsible manner. As a last resort, we will refuse entry to intoxicated persons and no refund will be offered. It is the organisers responsibility to ensure that no participant/guest of the event arrives intoxicated.
Refunds and cancellations
Once your booking has been paid for, we unfortunately cannot offer any type of refund.
Picking up finished event work
Pots can take between 3 - 4 weeks for us to fire and glaze them. We will send an email as soon as everything is ready for collection.
Pots not collected after 2 months will be disposed of.
