FAQ’s

  • Our classes are released a month before the start of each term.

First, we put them up on our booking website to preview along with a release date. We do this so that you can decide on the class that works for you without worrying that you are not going to have enough time to book.

Then on the specified date, using the same link they will be bookable.

  • If you can’t book into your desired class, first please check what date the listings are bookable. If you are booking on or after this date, this probably means the course is fully booked.

  • We are really sorry you can’t get into the class you want! Make sure you are subscribed to our newsletter as that is where you will hear about new classes first.

  • Yes! Check out the link at the top of this page called Workshops & One-off classes or click here for Wheel & Wine or here for Coffee & Clay

  • If you have some experience throwing, you can skip level one and move into the level that best describes what you would like to focus on.

  • We do not offer vouchers for classes or workshops, unfortunately! Only for our shop.

If you are looking for a present for someone, our Clay Kits make great gifts! See here for more information and to purchase!

  • To become a member you must have some experience with clay and understand the difference between a bisque firing and a glaze firing. You must also have a good understanding of how to glaze your work. If you have done our 5-week Beginners Level 1 class this is enough to become a member. Once you have filled out a Membership Application Form, we will be in touch with an induction date. See here for more information.

  • Hand building pottery does not use a wheel to shape the clay, while wheel throwing does. When hand building, a ceramic artist may use coils or slabs of clay to build an object, or simply sculpt with their hands to shape the clay.

Wheel throwing pottery uses an electric or a manual pottery wheel to spin the clay while the potter shapes it.
